Legacy Christian is set for softball

Legacy Christian Academy’s athletic program is growing. The small Ridgeland school said this spring it is adding softball.

Recently the school had tryouts for its first Lady Labs softball team, led by head coach Delos Cannon and assistants T.R. Cannon and Justin Kesselring. The coaches are stressing the fundamentals The team, which will compete in the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools, will play its games at Kleckley Field.

The school’s cheerleaders were active in the fall, cheering at home soccer games and leading the Pup Rallys and Spirit Week. The girls learned new cheers and dances. They are coached by Christy Tindal and assistant Wendy Morrison. This spring the team will cheer on the baseball and softball teams.
