Jaguars begin hoops season with 2 wins

Ridgeland-Hardeeville's boys basketball team - ranked No. 2 in the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association Class AAA poll - began the season with two wins at the Windsor Forest Southside Classic in Savannah.

On Friday, the Jaguars beat Richmond Hill 65-52. Diamonte Robinson had 12 points, six steals and two blocks; Jabari Williams added 14 points; William Westbrook scored 10 points; and Rashamel Butler added eight points, four rebounds and nine assists.

Rashamel Butler paced the Jaguars in Saturday's 75-45 win over South Effingham. He had 28 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals. Devin Butler added 11 points, three assists and two steals; Jertaveon Smalls scored 10 points and had four steals and Robinson scored nine points, had three assists and three steals.
